Spice tour and cooking class (1/2 day)

You leave around 9 a.m. for the Kizimbani spice plantation . During this spice tour, you will be able to pick, smell and taste fruits and spices that may be unfamiliar to you, such as cloves, lemongrass, turmeric, etc. The visit is carried out by a multilingual tourist guide and is followed by a cooking class taught by a local chef, with whom you will share the delicious meal that you have concocted (ingredients and equipment included in the visit). Return to Stone Town early in the afternoon.

Excursion to Jozani forest and Prison island (1 day)

You leave around 8 a.m. towards Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park , 38 km southeast of Stone Town. The hike in the forest, accompanied by a guide, generally lasts 2 to 3 hours. This is the perfect place to encounter many endemic varieties of flora and fauna, including the Zanzibar red colobus monkey. Other species you might spot include blue monkeys, bush pigs, Ader's duikers (antelopes), proboscis shrews, chameleons and many birds and butterflies. At lunchtime, you return to Stone Town and have lunch in one of the town's restaurants (not included in this excursion), then you embark for Prison Island (approximately 30 minutes crossing). During the guided tour, you will learn about the fascinating and touching history of the island, as it was used as a yellow fever quarantine station during the colonial era. You will also have the opportunity to see the giant tortoises for which the island is famous and can relax on a magnificent beach, swim and/or snorkel .

Chumbe island coral park (2 days-2 nights)

You leave around 9 a.m. for the Jungle Paradise Resort & Spa from where you board from 9:30 a.m. (departure 10 a.m.). After a crossing of 45 minutes maximum, you settle in for two days and two nights with full board . Chumbe Island Coral Park is a private nature reserve that was developed from 1991 for the conservation and sustainable management of the uninhabited Chumbe Island. The reserve includes a fully protected coral reef sanctuary and forest reserve, home to rare wildlife, a visitor and education center, a small ecolodge, walking trails and historic monuments. All buildings and activities are based on cutting-edge ecotechnology aimed at zero impact on the environment (rainwater capture, photovoltaic energy and solar water heater, composting toilets, plant filtration of gray water, etc.).

The activities included in these two days are:

• Snorkel on one of the most pristine and diverse coral reefs in the world (equipment provided). Freediving lessons can be arranged if necessary.
• Boat transfers for snorkeling
• Guided tours through the coral rag forest
• night walks to see endangered coconut crabs (the largest land crabs in the world)
• Sodas, water, coffee, tea and snacks

Two days after arrival, check-out takes place at 8:30 a.m. and the boat leaves at 9 a.m. for Jungle Paradise Resort & Spa. Once there, your driver will take you back to your apartment in the city.
